A standard rain umbrella, made from regular black pongee fabric has a UPF rating of just UPF15. Our uv umbrella / uv parasol parasols are made from UPF50+ fabric.

This is my fourth sunbella. I use them every time I go outside during the day. I will certainly use this one but it’s a bit awkward. There’s so much material in it that I can’t do the clip up again so I need a very big handbag to cram it into when I go inside. The mechanism does not open or close smoothly - have to push really hard to close. I like the colour and it’s very effective once it’s up. I’ll wait until I have some more funds and try a different one

These parasols are an excellent accessory in every way. Both practical and aesthetically pleasing. They offer ample protection - a necessity for sunny days, are comfortable to hold - sturdy yet lightweight and are beautifully designed - can bring elegance to any outfit.
